In the summer of 2024, the group kept busy as always. In July, Laura, Masoumeh, Oreoluwa and Alathea developed content on atomistic modeling in materials science for and participated in the University Wyoming Summer High School Institute.
In August, Amber Lock, an REU student in the group, presented her research on a programming project involving atomistic simulations of solvated porous organic frameworks.
Students Oreoluwa, Masoumeh and Alathea presented their research in several posters and talks the 2024 Materials Research Society (MRS) meeting in Seattle, and the 2024 American Chemical Society (ACS) meeting, in Denver. The PI, Laura, attended ACS and gave two invited talks, at the NanoSeries 2024 conference in Lisbon, and the General Conference of the Condensed Matter Division (CMD) #31, in Braga, Portugal. We also attended the 2024 Foundations of Molecular Modeling and Simulation (FOMMS) meeting, in Snowbird.
We’ve included several photos taken in Summer 2024. All in all, a full summer!
